Permission must be obtained on a case-by-case basis for all photocopies, excluding microforms.

Permission depends upon the condition of the material and any restrictions imposed by collection donors or the owner of copyright.

No photocopies may be made of oversize, hand-colored, or fragile items, or if copyright infringement is a possibility.

Except for microfilm, all copies are made by staff.

Please limit photocopy requests to 30 pages per visit. Copy limits do not apply to microfilm copies which are made by the patron at time of visit. Larger requests may be filled at a later date and mailed to the patron at the applicable mailing fee rate. may not be completed before the following business day.

All microfilm copies and photocopies made in response to mail, email, or phone requests are 60R each page, plus shipping and handling.

Reproduction Rules The Williams Research Center reserves the right to make decisions about what materials can be photocopied, photographed, microfilmed, digitized or otherwised duplicated based on the condition of the materials, access restrictions, and copyright restrictions. The staff of the Williams Research Center is solely responsible for creating reproductions of materials in its collections. All responsibility for possible infringement of copyright law, that may arise in this photoduplicating and use of the copies, is assumed by the applicant. The researcher also assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel and literary property rights which may be involved in the use of the materials. No materials belonging to the Williams Research Center of the Historic New Orleans Collection may be published, in whole or part, without permission from the Director. Specific acknowledgment to the Williams Research Center of the Historic New Orleans Collection for the use of its materials must appear in the printed publication. The Historic New Orleans Collection would like to receive notification of any publication in which use has been made of its materials.

Photographs are provided only for research, publication, and display by museums, libraries and similar institutions.

TRANSPARENCY RENTAL AGREEMENT 4x5 Color Transparencies are available for rental only for the purpose specified on the front of this form, and must be returned after four months to The Historic New Orleans Collection.
